Oklahoma’s Joe Mixon Breaks Silence, Tweets About “Comeback Season”

Oklahoma freshman running back Joe Mixon is technically no longer a member of the Sooners football team, as he was suspended for the entire season after being formally charged with a “misdemeanor count of an act resulting in gross injury” Monday. But Mixon, whose suspension stems from an alleged physical altercation with a female student back in July, is apparently already ready to move on. He took to Twitter Tuesday afternoon to quote rapper Drake regarding a “comeback season”, breaking his silence.

Mixon’s status on the Sooners’ roster will likely be directly tied to how his case in court plays out. It’s hard to see OU keeping him around if he’s convicted, but it’s very possible that he’s welcomed back if found innocent. In short, there very well may be a comeback season for Mixon, we just don’t know where it will be.
