Oklahoma Basketball’s Buddy Hield Says Sooners Are Going To Win The Big 12 This Year

It’s been a decade – literally – since any program other than Kansas won the Big 12 regular season title in men’s basketball. But the 2014-2015 season, according to Oklahoma guard Buddy Hield, won’t result in an 11th straight championship for the boys from Lawrence. Hield, who grew into one of the conference’s best guards last season, told CBS Sports’ Jeff Borzello that his Sooners are going to take the crown this upcoming year.

OU actually finished last year with a 12-6 record in-conference, good enough for second place behind the Jayhawks. The Sooners were a 5-seed in the NCAA Tournament, but got bounced in the first game by North Dakota State. They’ll have to improve greatly and see KU have a down season for Hield’s prediction to come true. We’ll be watching.
