There is still no consensus as to who the Cleveland Cavaliers will take with the first overall pick of this month’s NBA Draft. The team has numerous options at that spot, including the possibility of trading the pick, something that could be attractive to a team looking to add multiple pieces and contend right away. The 76ers, on the other hand, seem to know exactly what they want. According to a report from the Philadelphia Inquirer, based on information from Fox Sports Ohio and ESPN, the team is interested in leveraging its third overall pick and possibly forward Thaddeus Young to go after Kansas wing Andrew Wiggins.

Former Kansas swingman Andrew Wiggins is believed to be the player the Sixers are targeting the most in the draft…

The Sixers’ willingness to part ways with Young shouldn’t come as a surprise. The 25-year-old wants to play for a contender and wasn’t happy that the Sixers tanked this season.

He is slated to make about $9.1 million next season and has a player option worth a little less than $9.8 million with the Sixers for the 2015-16 campaign.

The 76ers have been making an effort to basically turn over the entire roster, so Young probably doesn’t factor into their plans long-term. If they don’t have to give up a second first-round pick, and they can guarantee to land their first choice, it seems like a solid move.
