Story: It’s over. The run many never expected from the Syracuse Orange has come to an end at the hands of the Michigan Wolverines. Michigan jumped out to a lead in the first half, figuring out the zone defense that had stumped other teams in the NCAA Tournament. The Wolverines key was Mitch McGary, who passed, shot and rebounded around the 2-3 with ease.
But the Orange didn’t give up. The team slowly crawled back in the second half to within a few points. Michigan panicked, turning the ball over on three straight possessions, putting the game within reach for Syracuse. But it was a combination of bad passes, unfortunate foul calls and Michael Carter-Williams’ and Brandon Triche’s departures from the game that ultimately led to defeat.
It was a tough loss but an incredible season. Credit goes to all the Orange fans who stuck with this team through thick and thin.

There are actually people crying on Marshall Street right now. Apparently “it’s the worst senior year ever.” #Syracuse
