Photo: Syracuse Football Using New York State-Shaped Recruiting Letters

The battle to be considered the most popular collegiate athletics program in both New York state and New York City is far from over, and Syracuse University is still doing its best to back up it’s self-titled “New York’s College Team” claim. Today, we’re seeing yet another marketing ploy that the Orange is using to remind recruits where SU is located.

Class of 2015 kicking prospect Sterling Hofrichter posted a photo on Instagram of a recruiting letter he got from Eric White, Syracuse’s Director of Recruiting. It’s in the shape of New York state.

White also referred to Hofrichter as “Showtime”, so there are multiple recruiting tactics at work here. Cuse fans – should the idea of playing in New York state be a major selling point?
