Chairman Of Syracuse Board Of Trustees Donates $1 Million To School On Day SU Officially Moves To ACC

Today was a huge day for Syracuse University — the school’s athletics programs were officially able to to leave the Big East and join the Atlantic Coast Conference, now arguably the premier athletic conference in the nation.

This is a great move in itself, but it also inspired a great move from Richard L. Thompson, the chairman the of the Syracuse Board of Trustees. Thompson has been chairman of the board since May of 2011, and decided to announce today that he is donating $1 million to the school, according to Nate Mink of the Post-Standard:

This is fantastic news for the school, and a great way to continue celebrating the move to the ACC.
