Stephen Morris Officially Named Starter For Miami Hurricanes
SportsIllustrated is reporting that Stephen Morris has been named the starting quarterback for the Miami Hurricanes…again.
Last season, Morris opened the season as the starter, but was quickly relegated to back up duty for most of the year. Then, when teammate Ryan Williams transferred in from Memphis, there was doubt as to whether or not Morris would become the starter again.
Morris also had back surgery this spring, but has been diligent in his studies of game-film and the playbook. Head coach Al Golden had nothing but praise for Morris’ preparation:
“Had a great offseason, had a great summer, he’s the unquestioned leader right now and his performance is backing that up” ~ Al Golden
Miami fans will now be hoping that unlike last year, Morris will play well enough to hold on to his starting position.
