Video: Pitt Retires Larry Fitzgerald’s Panthers Jersey, Number One

Update: Here’s a video of the jersey retiring ceremony, posted by PittLiveWire:

Earlier: Larry Fitzgerald is a Pittsburgh football legend, and today he received the ultimate honor from the school: his jersey was retired.

Fitzgerald wore the number one in his time with the Panthers, and he racked up 161 receptions for 2677 yards and 34 touchdowns in only two seasons. He only spent two years in college since he spent his senior year of high school at Valley Forge Military Academy, which allowed him two fulfill the “three years removed from high school” NFL Draft requirement.

Today, Pittsburgh football tweeted a photo of Fitzgerald getting his jersey retired:

It’s a serious honor, but one certainly well-deserved. Congratulations, Fitz.
