Video: Stephen Colbert Discussed The UNC Academic Scandal On His Show, It Was Hilarious

Nearly two weeks ago, Mary Willingham, a graduation adviser at the University of North Carolina, released a shocking study which concluded that 10 percent of UNC student-athletes could not read at a third-grade level and and nearly 60% of them read between fourth- and eight-grade levels. The university has since suspended her research work and an investigation into her claims is ongoing.

Naturally, the investigation is drawing a lot of attention — so much that Stephen Colbert had to include it in Wednesday’s ‘Sports Report’. Colbert nailed the segment by playfully mocking the school for handing out degrees that the athletes can’t actually read and poking fun at various quotes by Willingham — check it out below:
