NC State Football Puts Russell Wilson Memorabilia In Its Trophy Case

The war over “what college gets to claim Russell Wilson” rages on. Today, North Carolina State lands a punch, adding a Russell Wilson jersey and helmet to the football trophy case next to the 2010 Champs Sports Bowl trophy, a game in which Wilson threw for two touchdowns en route to a 23-7 win over West Virginia and a game MVP award.

This is just the latest event in an escalating contest between NC State and Wisconsin to claim Wilson as their own. Wilson played his final year of eligibility at Wisconsin after starting at quarterback for the Wolfpack for three seasons. Last month, the two schools (though some suspect UNC fans were the instigators) traded barbs via Raleigh-area billboard during Super Bowl week.

Can’t we all just get along?
