Kentucky Vs. Louisville Basketball Will Have Extra Significance This Year

This year’s Kentucky-Louisville rivalry game will have a bit of extra significance, if that’s possible. The game, which will be played at Louisville’s KFC Yum! Center on December 27, has been selected as this year’s “Basketball Hall of Fame Shootout.” Louisville first partnered with the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011-12, when the program hosted rival Memphis in a game for which a portion of the proceeds went to the non-profit Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.

Louisville-Kentucky, which will also be a rematch of this year’s Sweet 16 match-up which Kentucky won 74-69, is certainly one game that is sure to draw a lot of attention, so the Basketball Hall of Fame has to be thrilled with this selection. Kentucky also won its regular season match-up with Louisville in Lexington last year. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 32-15.
