Photos: Rick Pitino Attending Kentucky Derby, Picks ‘Intense Holiday’
Last year, Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino co-owned one of the horses – Goldencents – competing in the Kentucky Derby. This time around, none of his horses will be making the trip – but that doesn’t mean he’s taking the event off. Pitino’s love of horse racing has led him back to Churchill Downs, this time as a spectator. He’s picking Intense Holiday, one of the race favorites, if you were wondering.

In the past, Pitino has named horses after his Louisville players – namely Peyton Siva, Russ Smith and Gorgui Dieng. Like it or not, he just about sums up everything that is the state of Kentucky.
