Photo: Louisville Gets New FieldTurf For Football And Baseball Fields
Louisville Athletics has had one heck of a year – the Cardinals football team won the Sugar Bowl, the women’s basketball team reached the NCAA Championship Game, the baseball team reached the College World Series, and, of course, the men’s basketball team won the NCAA title. Behind the scenes, there has been some other exciting news as well – new FieldTurf for both the baseball and football stadiums.
The school released a statement earlier today that both Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium and Jim Patterson Stadium are getting (or have gotten) new FieldTurf installed ahead of the 2013-2014 season. Nick Stover, the Director of Social Media for Louisville, tweeted out the news, along with a photo:

The football stadium now has FieldTurf Revolution CoolPlay, while the baseball stadium will have DoublePlay Classic. Both systems are state-of-the-art – and Louisville football coach Charlie Strong is pumped:
“This has been an outstanding product for our football team over the years. It’s a great surface for the players and they really enjoy competing on it each week. We installed a new turf this season and I am pleased with the design and the feel of the new surface.”
The Year of the Cardinal continues…
