Bobby Petrino may have just landed his two most significant recruits yet during his second tenure at Louisville, and they come from the college ranks. Georgia cornerback Shaq Wiggins and Texas A&M receiver JaQuay Williams, high school teammates from Sandy Creek High School in Georgia, have both committed to Louisville after transferring from their previous programs.

Wiggins was one of Georgia’s top corners last season. Louisville blog Card Chronicle wrote that Wiggins didn’t believe that he fit into the system of new Georgia defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt. Former Georgia DC Todd Grantham is now in the same role at UL.
Wiggins was a four-star defensive back signee and started eight games for Georgia under new Louisville defensive coordinator Todd Grantham. He reportedly transferred from Georgia after new defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt required different techniques with which Wiggins was uncomfortable.
Williams caught four passes for 71 yards and a touchdown as a freshman at Texas A&M last year. He was originally committed to Auburn, but wound up selecting A&M after a year in prep school.
Wiggins and Williams’ high school coach Chip Walker was very complimentary of both of his former players.
