Louisville First School To Reach Final Four, BCS Bowl Game, College World Series In Same Year

There’s never been a better time to be a Louisville fan. With the Cardinals’ upset of No. 2 Vanderbilt on Sunday afternoon, the school can now boast a feat that has never been accomplished during the BCS era. Louisville has become the first program to reach the men’s Final Four, a BCS bowl game and the College World Series all in the same academic year – and that doesn’t even count the women’s Final Four appearance.

The school’s Twitter account had a few more impressive stats to share:

As you already know, Louisville won its bowl game (a 33-23 Sugar Bowl victory over Florida) and won both of its games in the Final Four, earning the school’s third NCAA trophy. Will the Cardinals tack on a World Series title as well?
