Kentucky Coach Mark Stoops Calls Louisville’s Clint Hurtt “Too Easy Of A Target”
The Kentucky vs. Louisville rivalry is alive and well, folks. Wednesday afternoon, Wildcats coach Mark Stoops, while speaking with reporters, refused to comment on a recent Facebook post by Cardinals assistant Clint Hurtt, yet still made it clear how he feels about him.
Hurtt’s post, which you can see here, poked fun at Kentucky’s football program, reading “you don’t play in the SEC, you just participate.” Stoops’ response, via Rivals’ Brett Dawson:
Mark Stoops: “I’m not worried about Clint Hurtt. That’s too easy of a target for me to go after.”

Hurtt is currently being punished by the NCAA for his alleged involvement in the Nevin Shapiro scandal at Miami (FL), so perhaps that’s why Stoops thinks that he is an “easy target” – or maybe there are other reasons that aren’t as public. Either way, the trash talk here is nothing new for these two programs.
