Former Bulldogs Corner Shaq Wiggins Says Matthews Will Join Him At Louisville, Implies Georgia Is The Problem
Earlier today, it was announced by Georgia head coach Mark Richt that sophomore safety Tray Matthews had been dismissed from the Bulldogs program. Matthews himself also tweeted the news, and mentioned that he was looking to continue his career at either Auburn or Louisville. Former Georgia Bulldog Shaq Wiggins, who also left the program this past offseason and transferred to play for the Cardinals, thinks he’s about to regain a teammate.
Wiggins tweeted that Matthews was on his way to Louisville. He also sent out an odd tweet that claimed “it’s not us it’s THEM”. He later deleted both tweets.
Should Matthews wind up at Louisville, he’d be the third Georgia Bulldog to transfer there this offseason – safety Josh Harvey-Clemons also made the move.
Wiggins also retweeted a number of anti-Georgia statements.
It’s clear that Wiggins is still sour about the way things ended for him in Athens. Regardless, Louisville could acquire a good portion of UGA’s defensive backfield by the start of 2014.
