FSU’s Chris Casher Responds To USA Today’s Story About Jameis Winston And Him Being Held At Gunpoint By Police: “They Can Kiss My Ass”

Florida State football, specifically quarterback Jameis Winston, just can’t stay out of the headlines… for better or worse. Today’s big story comes from USA Today, which reports that Winston and teammate Chris Casher were stopped at gunpoint near campus after being spotted with a pellet gun.

About five hours before Jameis Winston was involved in a BB gun “battle” that damaged the apartment complex where he lived in 2012, the Florida State quarterback was stopped by campus police at gunpoint and handcuffed for carrying a pellet gun near campus that he said he was using to shoot at squirrels.

Winston and teammate Chris Casher were briefly detained by FSU police on Nov. 25, 2012, after an unidentified person reported two men carrying a “long barreled handgun” on campus, according to a police report obtained by USA TODAY Sports.

Winston and Casher were each asked about the event by AP reporter Brendan Farrington. They had very different responses.

While someone will probably be talking to Casher about how to handle the media in the near future, he did take some attention off Jameis Winston, squirrel hunter, which is probably appreciated.
