Last week, Florida State made yet another statement to the rest of the college football world when the Seminoles dismantled Miami 41-14 in Tallahassee. The Hurricanes were previously undefeated and FSU did not take them lately before the matchup; in fact, Seminoles defensive end Mario Edwards indicated that he and his teammates needed to “mature” and also be extra physical in order to win:
Mario Edwards: “(The Miami game) was definitely fun. Our nuts had to drop that night and we had to be physical and that’s what we did.”

Edwards’ point is clear: the Seminoles felt that they needed to take their game to another level against Miami to get the job done. Mission accomplished.
