Coach K On Jabari Parker: “Minimal” Chance He Stays Another Year, Duke “Prepared” To Move On

Last night, No. 8 Duke crushed UCLA to move to 9-2 on the season, behind another stellar performance by star freshman Jabari Parker. Parker has been compared to Carmelo Anthony quite frequently, and is averaging 22.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game so far in 2013. He is competing with a number of players to be the top player selected in the 2014 NBA Draft — unless of course he stays another year, which is always a possibility at a Duke.

This morning, Mike Krzyzewski appeared on the Dan Patrick Show to talk about the win over the Bruins last night, and of course, Jabari’s future came up as a topic of discussion. Coach K once again raved about not only Jabari’s talent, but his love for college, education, and Duke in general. When Patrick asked if loving those things would indicate that there’s a chance he might return for at least another season, Krzyzewski was quick to say the chance was “minimal” and glowed about the opportunity of being such a high NBA selection. However, he did say that you can never rule these things out:
