Snoop Dogg’s Son Cordell Broadus Gets Duke Football Scholarship Offer

Duke may be looking to add a little bit of swag to the 2013 football team. Yesterday, the Blue Devils staff extended a scholarship offer to Cordell Broadus, a wide-receiver prospect in the Class of 2015 who also happens to the son of Snoop Dogg.

Now we’ve seen situations like this before where people have been outraged (such as when UCLA offered Diddy’s son a scholarship), but Broadus should be nothing but proud of receiving the offer. While certainly Snoop has enough money to put his son through college without aid, the scholarship reflects the accomplishments of Cordell, not his father — he’s earned it.

Plus, now Broadus could potentially team up with John Mellencamp’s son who is already on the Duke roster — imagine the viral music videos they could create!

Of course, this is just an offer and that doesn’t mean Broadus is even going to choose the Blue Devils, but it will be something to keep an eye on.
