College football fans were heartbroken in early June when Howard’s Rock, Clemson’s iconic landmark that the football team has a tradition of rubbing before games, was vandalized and partially stolen. The school apparently is taking steps to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
Clemson tweeted out a photo of a new protective case for the landmark – it’s pretty robust.

The assumption is that some part of the cover is removable so that the Tigers can continue their tradition. While it’s sad that it’s come to this, hopefully the new barrier deters would-be troublemakers.
