Clip Of Steve Spurrier’s NSFW Phrase Goes Viral, But Here’s The Full Video For Context

Yesterday, WYFF News in Greenville, South Carolina did a story on how South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier approaches the team’s annual game with in-state rival Clemson. It mentioned that while the Tigers put a major emphasis on The Palmetto Bowl, Spurrier tries to stress to the Gamecocks that no matter how big the game is, at the end of the day, it’s no more important than any other game in terms of how it impacts your record.

However, the most notable thing to come from the segment is this Vine from Ryan Real, which has been looped more than 11,000 times in 10 hours. It involves Spurrier giving a NSFW description of what he does in the team’s locker room.

As you can probably guess, that sound bite was taken out of context. While that clip does suggest something inappropriate, it instead comes from Spurrier discussing taking down “Beat Clemson” signs when he first arrived at South Carolina. Here’s the full video, with the above clip’s full context coming around the 55 second mark.

While Spurrier probably should have phrased that a little better, it was ultimately a harmless thing that got taken out of context, and we all got a laugh at the Old Ball Coach’s expense.
