Award Candidate Dismissed From Miami
The Chuck Bednarik Award is given out each year to the nation’s most outstanding defensive player. Miami safety Ray-Ray Armstrong was on the Watch List for this upcoming season’s award, but was recently dismissed by the Hurricanes, according to ESPN.
A reason for his dismissal was not given, but he has been suspended multiple times throughout his career for receiving improper benefits from boosters and for fraternizing with friends who handle the careers of professional athletes.
Miami did say they would grant him full release if he decides to go play for another institution.
