Update: USF Will Not Have “The Team” Across The Back Of Its Jerseys, Per NCAA Rules
Update: Well, that was fun while it lasted. In accordance with NCAA rules, USF will not put “The Team” across the backs of its jerseys, according to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy.

Earlier: It is not that unusual for coaches to add or remove players’ names from the jerseys when they want to work on changing the culture of a program. USF’s Willie Taggart is working on that process, although he will not leave the Bulls’ nameplates blank on the jerseys. Instead, each USF jersey will read “The Team” on the back above the numbers.

This is certainly something different. Our guess? Fans won’t really love this. We’ve already seen what happened when BYU tried something similar. It didn’t last long.
