After UConn won this year’s national championship, many predicted that young head coach Kevin Ollie would be near the top of many lists for NBA coaching jobs. He had previously been connected to the Lakers job, but in the spring he signed a five year extension to stay in Storrs. Now, after a ridiculous situation saw Jason Kidd get traded to Milwaukee, Ollie has been approached by the Brooklyn Nets. Luckily for UConn fans, he’s not going anywhere, according to multiple reports.

Expect Ollie to remain a major commodity for NBA teams with opening, like Kentucky’s John Calipari. To attract him away from his alma mater, where he already has a championship, an opportunity will really need to blow him away though.
As for Brooklyn, former Memphis Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins is thought of as a front-runner for the job.
