Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy Declares This Weekend “Husky Weekend”

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy has been stumping for UConn’s men and women’s basketball teams all season, and with both Husky squads in the Final Four this week, he has declared this weekend “Husky Weekend” in the State of Connecticut with an official designation.

With Kevin Ollie’s UConn men playing for the program’s fourth National Championship, and Geno Auriemma’s powerhouse girls going for a ninth title, the Governor wants Connecticut residence showing their Husky pride this weekend.

The two Connecticut teams are trying to sweep both NCAA Tournaments for a second time. UConn captured both National Championships back in 2004, and are the only school represented in both of this year’s basketball Final Fours.
