Mick Cronin To Sean Kilpatrick, Justin Jackson On AAC Awards: “Heroes Are Made In March Boys, This Is All BS”

Cincinnati completed a very strong AAC season, finishing in a tie for first place with Louisville and earning the top seed in the conference’s tournament. Senior Sean Kilpatrick has been everything for Cincinnati, leading the Bearcats with 20.9 points and 2.5 assists per game. However, it was UConn senior Shabazz Napier who took home the conference’s player of the year. Bearcats coach Mick Cronin doesn’t seem to buy into these awards too much.

It’s not as if Cincinnati was totally shut out of major AAC awards. Kilpatrick was a unanimous first team All-AAC pick, and took home the conference’s “Sportsman of the Year”, while teammate Justin Jackson won Defensive Player of the Year, and Mick Cronin was named Coach of the Year.
