Dan Dakich Rips Apart Ted Valentine During Illinois-Michigan State Broadcast
Today’s Cincinnati-UConn game featured an intense brush-up between Bearcats coach Mick Cronin and official Ted Valentine, and many feel that Valentine was over the line for aggressively getting in the angry Cronin’s face. No one is more vocal on the issue than ESPN’s Dan Dakich, who had some very pointed comments about the altercation during the broadcast of this afternoon’s Illinois-Michigan State Big 10 game. Twitter users were quick to report on Dakich’s rant:
Dakich is ripping into TV Teddy right now during this Illinois/MSU game. “Talking trash is just nonsense to me.”

Dakich going off on Ted Valentine. “Can’t understand” why leagues hire him. Says he’s not a good official.

I like Dakich’s take – “If I was Cronin, I would have knocked (Ted Valentine) out.”

Dan Dakich on referee Ted Valentine getting in the face of Cincy coach Mick Cronin: “Ted Valentine’s lucky he didn’t get punched.”

Harsh words from Dakich, but he’s never been one to back down from a hot take.
